North of England Beekeepers' Convention Website: If you are a beekeeper or simply interested in honeybees, you are warmly invited to join novice and experienced beekeepers at our annual Convention. Beekeepers never stop learning and this is a great chance to hear eminent speakers, lively debate and tap into a wealth of knowledge – and all for around the cost of a few jars of honey.
With the UK hosting the 2012 Olympics, the convention is on the theme of 'Breeding Olympian Bees'. Our lectures will explore what we as beekeepers can do to breed healthy fit colonies and our speakers will share information on the latest bee research being done in the UK and locally in Newcastle. The event will be held at the Great North Museum: Hancock, Newcastle on 31 March 2012.
